Approve Claude Code requests from your phone or a notification

Don't let “Can I run this?” stall the work. Answer without going back to the terminal.

Where you can answer

When Claude Code asks for permission, Lidnight shows what it wants to do — the command, the file it will edit, or the URL — and lets you allow or deny it.

On the Mac: a card in the menu bar window, buttons on the notification, or a little bunny that peeks out under the notch (hover for the card). Free.

On your phone (Pro): get a push in the free ntfy app and allow or deny on the status page it opens. Link once with a QR code — no account needed.

The usual terminal prompt still appears. Whichever answers first wins.

Is it safe?

Push notifications never include the command. The status page is encrypted on the Mac, and the key travels to your phone only via the QR code, so the relay server can't read it.

Allow and deny from the phone are one-time signatures that expire and only work for that request, so a copied one can't be replayed.

Hard-to-undo commands like rm -rf, git push or sudo can't be allowed from the phone — only on the Mac.

Full details are on the Security & privacy page.

Setting it up

1. In Lidnight, turn on Claude Code in Settings › Agents. 2. Make sure “Approve from anywhere” is on (it is by default). 3. For your phone, turn on phone alerts in Settings › Alerts and scan the QR code. Claude sessions that were already open need one restart to pick it up.
